Oliver - 14 Days New.
So my new years resolution was to blog more... among many other resolutions that have been long forgotten (...hello chocolate) and the sudden realisation that it is April and I haven't stuck to my resolution at all I have decided to blog about a recent newborn session.
I met Oliver on day 14 of his life and (I may say this a lot) but oh my is he cute!
At the start of his session he was just too interested in seeing what was going on to close his eyes for even a minute but after some rocking and a lot of milk he just couldn't stay awake any longer.
All of my newborn sessions are special to me but it makes it even more so when you know the parents before hand and get to meet their new arrival to take those first ever photographs for them.
Even though he was asleep, Oliver made sure he was known by making lots of adorable sounds and squeaks for the entire session. (very cute!)
Oliver's session was all done in about 2.5 hours including feeds and changes. (and he made sure there were a lot of those!) On average my newborn sessions are around 2-3 hours to not rush the parents or babies and as newborns run on their own schedule each one is different!
During the session I worked through a number of different props, wraps and backdrops whilst keeping in mind the request of minimalistic colours such as white and greys. I love how this turned out, keeping the colours to a minimum meant Oliver was completely the star of the show in all of his photos and they can now be hung on any coloured wall in any home without the worry of colour schemes!
I absolutely love all the photography services I offer, however newborn sessions are close to my heart, being able to take the time to fully wrap and pose each baby to capture them whilst they are still tiny and brand new is amazing. The idea that families will look back on these photos for so many years to come and even have them hanging on the walls in their homes even after their children have grown up makes me happy.
